Having a Mocha Christmas
Author: yevka
I’ve run out of scheduled posts. It’s a good thing I was able to go online today at Starbucks (free wifi, baby) to surf and blog. But not only that. I was able to finally accomplish completing my Starbucks stickers. (Yehey!) So there. After lusting for their leather planner for almost 3 weeks, with the help of friends, I now have my very own 2008 planner. Weee!
Many thanks to Reg, Allan, Kris, Harv, Kyle, KC, Danna, Jing, LA, Chris for helping me complete my stickers.

I’m pissed at someone from work. Chie says “o dont be bad trip na.. or cge, be bad trip but be beautifully bad trip!”. Nice. Pano? Kate wouldn’t be too happy. Super dooper hard to choose higher self. Thank goodness my biatch, Kris coming back tonight from month long training. Looking forward to it. Actually harv, the husband, is much excited. I left the condo with him having the cleaners in, and his mom decorating the house with xmas decors. (I’d be much impressed if you did it, dude. But sige na nga. It’s the thought that counts).
Thanks to Ate for cheering me up. And yes, my situation isn’t that bad.
Just give me tonight lang. Tomorrow I’ll be done.
Time for parties
Author: yevka
Last Tuesday, Admin circulated a memo about our Christmas party this coming Friday. The theme is Psychedelic Christmas and it’s a costume party. The party caught me unaware (huwhat?! Friday na ang Christmas party?!) and left me without a costume to wear nor a gift to give.
I have zero imagination, and needed the help of the world wide web to give me an idea of what is psychedelic. After viewing pictures of The Supremes, Austin Powers, The Beatles, etc., I asked my colleague to accompany me to buy an outfit that will bring me back to the that era.
Do you have any idea how ridiculously hard that was?! And how I felt ridiculously silly. Oh, if I could just NOT go. Haay. My only consolation is that, I wouldn’t be the only one who will look silly. At least we’re a whole group. (If I end up to be the only one wearing teased, big or flyaway hair, so help me…)
Anyway, I’m still running around looking for fishnet stockings to complete my already ridiculous image. A trip to SM is in order…
I wonder if I have the guts to post pics of our party tomorrow.
esep esep.

Yesterday was the birthday of my friend, former coachee, current angel, Sonny Aquino. Just taking a moment to say Happy Birthday and that I miss you. You’ll always be in my heart.
Supporting Jenne
Author: yevka
My wedding coordination partner and friend, Jenne is also a caterer and a host, aside from a former trainer-in-training, a student leader and a mother. She’s the Jane (jenne, in this case) of all trades, and I rely on her for our clients, wedding trends, supplier referrals.
Now, she’s also the latest feature of Buddy Gancenia’s How To. Buddy, is my favorite videographer, hands down.
And I’m looking forward to his How To vids.
Way to go Jen and Buddy!!
Lunching with Superheroes

Lookie at who were our servers earlier at TGIFriday’s this afternoon.
Was with the Calim’s (yet again) for lunch. Kris dared me to have my pics taken with the waiters and servers in costume in exchange for free Bizu cake. Hahaha. Hindi makatanggi sa libreng Bizu, so go for picture taking with the Justice League.
*Not in this picture is the sexy Lara Croft, Zorro and Mr. Incredible.*
That’s a TGIF Halloween for you.
Of birthdays and parties

Happy birthday Kris! Don’t worry about getting old… nasa Lotto ka pa rin naman eh! Hahaha!
========
It was a simple celebration. Harv cooked the only dish he knows – some sort of pasta. Harv’s folks came over and brought litson (talap) and I bought cake. Kris’ mom bought utensils, because Kris and Harv just realized that their house is built for two (plus me – mga extra, extra stuff lang, hehe). This is the first time they’re holding a “party” in their house, and had limited plates, spoons, forks, glasses, pang sandok and stuff. They got wine glasses for their wedding though, hehe. But that was about it. I now understand the importance of a bridal registry!
Anyway, it was made a dash more interesting with the new toy Harv “nenoked” from his office. The Nintendo Wii.
Check out Perrine, Harv’s oh-so-funny-screams-like-a-bading sister who, it seemed, was the ideal Wii customer!

Ninang na naman?

Isn’t he adorable?
Last Sunday, I attended the christening of Baby Joseph Christian Coloma. No, I wasn’t Ninang. Just proxy this time.
It was my first time to attend a seminar specifically FOR the godparents. (Kahit proxy, kailangan mag attend). I forgot most of what was said (I think the purpose of me attending was so that I could inform Maeyo about what they were teaching. Oh crap. Sorry, Maeyo!) Anyway, I know naman that Maeyo will make a good Ninang.
And to think, for all the six times that I’m the Ninang (hmm, tama ba figure ko…. let’s see…. Brian, Luigi, Sean, Joey, Marco and Julia) I’ve never attended a how-to-be-a-Ninang seminar. Hmm, I thought Ninangs were the ones who were required to give gifts… (I wasn’t a good Ninang in that case either!)
Anyway, congrats to Tina and Joseph and welcome Christian to the Christian world!

Last minute September updates!
I have loads.

Last Saturday (September 29), one of my good friends gave birth to David Antonio Miguel D. Martinez. Naks the name, diba! So Español! I luv it! Hehehe! I haven’t met him yet, but his tita just sent me his pic. He’s so adorable! Can’t wait to meet him.
My good friend Kris is leaving mid Month to the US for a training in her new office. Why this is such big news to me? Well for a couple of reasons:
- Mawawalaan ako ng “dumping” ground for a month and a half;
- My “work” events seems to coincide with Kris’. And I’m actually seeing an “up” movement in my work as well;
- I need to be making decisions myself, and let change take its natural course.
Congrats dude! Good luck to us!

During our EO3Q meeting this morning, our boss announced that our company has already reached and exceeded last year’s sales performance. A big hurrah to us.
Pwede na kaya mag bakasyon for the last quarter? Wehehe! Ummm, I don’t think so…

I don’t follow the UAAP saga ever since I graduated. Too bad for school spirit. But for some reason, news was all around me about this Season 70 of UAAP specifically about the La Salle-Ateneo rivalry. I started hearing about it when La Salle lost to Ateneo during the Sept. 9 games 2nd playoffs. Many of the Atenistas I met bragged about this win for a good week. It got more interesting when both teams made it to the final four, and were up against each other once again for the semis against UE (who is undefeated so far). La Salle was “twice to beat” with the first fight last Thursday. This basically means, if La Salle won, then they were up against UE. If Ateneo won, there would be another match to break the tie with La Salle.
During the Thursday fight, La Salle lost to Ateneo. A lot of chismax went on saying this was an “intended” loss, because the UAAP games (most esp. La Salle-Ateneo games) were a money making business. It made a whole lot of sense (not that I’m sulking that La Salle lost, as I mentioned, I didn’t really care much for the saga). Money making, because had La Salle won during that time, then there was no tie-breaker round. With the tie breaker round, Araneta Collisium made money, ticket sales made money, the major advertisers would be endorsed for another day, and of course, the drama is better. It also helps that Ateneo and La Salle are the most popular rivals since goodness knows when. And their alumnis were major sponsors to the events. I don’t know how true it is, but it made absolute sense for the players to be “bought” out so the money making guys, make more money.
Irregardless of, yesterday was the tie breaker. And after all the hoopla, La Salle will be fighting at the championship round against UE. Click on the image below for the blow-by-blow account of the explosive game.

I now look forward to rekindling my Green spirit. ANIMO LA SALLE!

I was supposed to be looking forward to a Singapore trip this October, but it got foiled.
Blast my darn sister. (Joke lang!)
I’m thinking of where to go for a getaway. Hmm. What do you think? I’m thinking end of the month, para long weekend. (All Saint’s / Soul’s Day Holiday).
