I’m BACK!!!

With a vengeance!!! Just a summary of what’s going on since last March.

  • After my Puerto Princesa trip, I went to Singapore.
  • During then, I went to Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia for a visit, for around 5 days in March.
  • When I went back to Singapore, I was given another 30 days stay.
  • I decided to cancel my Pinas return trip to continue my job hunt.
  • My nephew was born on March 17, 2008.
  • I went to Dubai to attend his christening last April 3.
  • Then I traveled back to Singapore for work.

I’m now back in the Merlion City. And starting work. Now the stories will be in future post. Hehe.

I’m really sorry for not keeping in touch.  Partly got tired of writing everything in a journal and partly because of all these new things I got overwhelmed with everything that I needed and wanted to do.  Hopefully get back in track…

Attitude of gratitude

Today I commit to be thankful for every moment, experience and memory that happens against all odds, even if things go not as well as I’d like it to – starting at 10am and ending at 10pm. I’m putting it into a timeline because it’ll be easier to track down progress. And hopefully how I do today will help me gauge how I will “be” tomorrow.

10am: My first call of thankfulness is towards my officemates who make my day by teasing me like crazy and making me laugh.

11am: I’m thankful for a dedicated boss who encourages me follows up with me continuously and encourages me to work.

12nn: Thankful for my friend who came to my *rescue* in my need to make things right.

1pm: For the wonderful bonding session with a friend I haven’t seen for quite some time over a sumptuous lunch.

2pm: For being looked up to and making me feel that I add value. For being trusted.

3pm: Thankful for afternoon coffee to help me keep awake.

4pm: For being introduced to people with so much integrity, who proved to me that power is not evil.

5pm: For still having the knack to be a true blue bolera. :glee:

6pm: I am thankful for the people in the office who come together, and work together, in spite of each others differences – and for understanding that they are different.

7pm: For having the opportunity to see one of my closest friends in the planet who I haven’t met for ages.

8pm: Most thankful to talk to someone who gives me the opportunity to see a different perspective and a little bit of clarity.

9pm: I am thankful for the ride home, safely and soundly, which is a pleasant change (since I’m mostly a driver, rather than passenger).

10pm: For finally being able to say, it was a good day and hoping for more blessings the next day.

Every time I blog hop, I’ve been seeing Christmas lists left and right. I’ve already said that I only wanted a Nikon for Christmas. But for some reason, I’ve still been asked what else do I want. Especially from those who are coming home. (Want anything from here?)

Since the season calls for it, I felt the need to put out a wish list to help my family and friends, oh and my office mates. (It’s our Christmas party soon, and our wish list has been due already).

So, having said that, with extra effort and additional brain power I’ve come up with my updated Christmas wish list.

After my feeling of being naisahan, I reported everything to my boss. I told her basically what the leading questions of their lawyer would be and she came up with a plan to, when asked, to be able to expound further on the questions.

I did say that I was only allowed to answer Yes or No. My boss anticipated and instead, answered with a Yes and No. Much to their lawyers’ (and judge’s) surprise, which forced him to ask why. And that’s exactly the question we needed to hear and be able to say our side of the story and expound on the breach of contract.

Justice will prevail.

I’ve been faced with a dilemma.

End of October, I had a wonderful breakthrough resulting to looking forward to new journeys. Excitedly, I informed Family first and waited for feedback, and way forwards, thinking I needed their full support and guidance.

For some reason, they didn’t read the family blog. Two weeks passed, before anything actually happened, which really just meant a reply email from sister dearest giving me some clarity. But by this time, the excitement wasn’t there as it had been during the *moment*. (Did I mention, I change my mind just like *that*).

At the same time, an offer and request was given to me that which would set back my plans. The hard part, I discovered, was saying No. Just like I’ve always done, I couldn’t bring myself to be a turn down a request from a person I admired. Aside from the request, other things happened which directly or indirectly affected my plans. And as much as I hated to admit it, I didn’t feel right if I were the only person to benefit. So I did the one thing I knew best – nothing.

Today, just like that, after doing nothing but wait, I found solutions. Not just solutions, but win-win ones. Maybe it was the Canada clan’s call to get things started that triggered it, or maybe it was a friend’s own dilemma and issues that I wanted to *fix*, or maybe because last week I was in the office for only 3 days (one day field, another day sick). Personally I feel it was because for a day, I spent it thinking about others. Whether it was or not, I have found solutions that seemed to benefit everyone and it included…. well, me.

So while the drive was there, the solution burning in my head, the leader in me wanting to rise, I voiced it out. Clearly, with the best of my intentions. And the person who mattered most, was enrolled. And for the first time in weeks, I felt the breakthrough was complete.

Successful day. My client finally made a decision. After 2 months of waiting, and a whole lot of bola. Gosh, it’s tiring to be in sales. Thank goodness for pots of gold at the end of rainbows.

And rewarded with the presence of my friend Danna, dyosa ng Singapore. Hahaha. :D

How cool! Fernwoods has a South counterpart called Fernbrook! And look! They have a gondola ride that takes you from the chapel to the reception! Coolness!

Maeyo just created a new header for me (just haven’t been able to put it up yet because haven’t had the time) that included a gondola. How SWAK! :D (Maeyo, the image for the header’s at the office :( will be able to send to you by Tuesday. I tried it the other day, but there were some errors that came up. Will upload/send/change my header asap) .

Anyway, found out about Fernbrook because this years WAW Christmas party will be held there. I’m not as active in coordination for quite sometime since the September (last wedding). Maybe something will come up on Dec/Jan when things get less hectic at work.

*Cross fingers*

Long weekend upcoming! Yay!

My greatest find for the week! San Francisco Coffee in El Pueblo Ortigas. Free wi-fi, free parking, tsalap coffee, great ambiance! Oh and unlike in SFC Alabang, if I run out of batt, I can plug it in! Yehey!

Check out Kris, Harv (taking the pic) and I taking advantage! Teehee, we’re a bunch of freeloaders, I swear!

Indulge me

We’ve just had lunch in Gerry’s grill in Promenade in Greenhills. We weren’t happy with the service we got (the waitress was chewing gum while assisting us to our seat, the table next to us were a group of teenagers who were too noisy – and ended up not eating anything – and we got irritated, another waiter came to take our order, the food took time to be served so we asked for the drinks first, after which the gum-chewer asked for our orders again because they misplaced our order – oh and she blamed the first order taker saying he was a newbie, and the leche flan we ordered didn’t arrive!) This was past 2 already, and there was not much customers. So obviously disappointed we went to have our desert elsewhere.

Our disappointment ended the moment we entered Bizu. The shop was light and airy. The attendant knew her stuff, and the cakes… ooh the cakes were a sight! My mouth was watering the moment I saw them!

I tried the Macarons de Paris sample and simply swooned. I mean if the macarons tasted like this, what more the cakes!

We ordered the “Samba” (choco cake) and “Mango Chiboust” (mango cheesecake) along with coffee and hot choco.

The moment I tasted the Samba, it was as if I died and went to heaven. It was *that* good! The chocolate was perfect! The serving size just right. Aack. My mouth is watering just remembering their cakes.

When I tasted the Mango cheesecake, I just blurted out that I wanted to cry! Haha! Kris and Harv laughed like there was no tomorrow. Gosh, sugar makes me so corny. And mababaw!

I wait for the day when I get to order myself a whole cake. Hmmm.. any celebrations out there I wonder?

When do I see you again, oh Bizu? I’m so drugged.
